Berta Sánchez-Laorden, is a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Neurosciences CSIC-UMH (Spain). Her work has helped to characterize key aspects of melanoma, including mechanisms that promote its development, metastasis, and resistance to therapies. Research in her lab is currently focused in (i) investigating the contribution of the reactivation of developmental programs to melanoma progression and (ii) elucidating microenvironmental players regulating melanoma plasticity at the metastatic niches, particularly the brain.
