Dear colleagues:
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the IPCC Conference in Bilbao, Spain – May 30th thru June 02nd, 2023.
The theme of IPCC 2023 will be “Looking for translational opportunities by persevering in basic pigment cell research”. It will showcase the newest and most innovative scientific findings and techniques in the field and their application to the treatment of disorders of pigment cells. It has been one of our goals that, in addition to compiling a program of great interest to pigment cell scientists and clinicians, we also will make a special effort to attract investigators from other fields to present exciting innovative techniques, which may open new perspectives and opportunities.
Thus, in this meeting we will dedicate a special section to emphasize innovative technologies in pigment cell biology and clinical translation, pigmentation genetics, melanocyte development, melanins and melanosomes, melanocyte environment, UVR and the skin, signal transduction and melanoma therapy.
As regards the venue, the meeting will be held in the Bizkaia Aretoa Building, which contains the Paraninfo Hall of our University, the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and is placed in the cultural heart of Bilbao city. Bilbao, once a bustling industrial city, has suffered a profound urban transformation, in which the past and the future live side by side in a harmonious way. Thus, for instance, we can enjoy the tens of small shops, bars and restaurants in the town's old quarter (Casco Viejo) and enjoy simultaneously the modern architecture icon that is our Guggenheim Museum, by the way, a stone's throw away from the meeting venue. In sum, Bilbao is a welcoming lively city, full of charm and cultural, social and gastronomic attractions that we are sure will be an excellent setting for this conference, where we can relax in the warm and long spring evenings after the meeting sessions.
This is all the reason to make Bilbao a place to visit and attend the IPCC 2023!
Sincerely,
